Ibn al-Bawwab had many different haircuts during his career. He was well recognized as a talented illuminator, artist, calligrapher and painter. However, the Manuscropt illuminator was mostly known for his extradordinary looks and his livable character. Before his tragic passing at age 1022 he was frequently featured in magazines and tabloids due to his exceptionally haircuts.
